About Me

Amy Swart

MSW, LICSW, PMH-C

Therapy provides an opportunity for healing through a nonjudgmental, collaborative relationship. Whatever may bring you to my office, I will meet you where you are, build on your strengths, and support you on your journey. I have been providing therapy services since 2011 and love what I do.

I am an engaging therapist with a warm, compassionate approach. I strive to show you an authentic version of myself—who you see in session is also who I am in real life. In the same way, you can be real with me and lay it out there, no matter what it is, and we will work through it together. Tears and laughter are welcome! I will help you reflect and gain insight, while also teaching you practical coping strategies so you leave my office with a plan for tackling whatever may be causing you distress.

Come as you are, and we will work together to get you where you want to be.

I am passionate about supporting women and their emotional well-being. One of my specialties is working with pregnant and postpartum mothers and their families. From trying to get pregnant, pregnancy, birth, new motherhood, and beyond, the transitions and emotional impacts can be intense. Mothers and their families need support and I am here for them.

I also have extensive experience in helping people overcome past traumatic incidents in a way that brings relief and promotes healing. You do not need to be bound by your past. You can feel like you are in control of the memories, not like they are in control of you.

I have my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Minnesota. In addition, I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I have advanced training in multiple therapies that I employ to meet the unique needs of each person, often utilizing EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused modalities.
